Parks Victoria are holding two Information Evenings for the two main Yarra River user groups – commercial tour operators and rowing clubs. Invitees are encouraged to attend one of the sessions. Representatives from Parks Victoria and Transport Safety Victoria will also be in attendance.
Agenda:
- The Introduction of new Parks Victoria staff with the aim of strengthening the user group/river manager relationship
- Explanation of the role of Parks Victoria as the river manager, and Transport Safety Victoria as the state maritime authority
- Maritime safety – ensuring all river users are aware of waterways rules, event requirements
- Looking at specific expectations of river users for the upcoming regatta season
- The relationship between user groups
- Question and answer session
