This is a seminar held primarily for coaches, however, club/school administrators, athletes, parents and friends are more than welcome.

How To Select and Be Selected

Everyone wants to see the best possible crew selected – athletes and coaches.  It would be fair to say that 60% of sporting success is ‘getting selection right’.  However, many of those that are vested with the responsibility of making selections do not have a great deal of opportunity to prepare for that task.  This seminar is an opportunity to pool the common sense, experience and knowledge of coaches for the benefit of those facing selection or having to select, at all levels.

The seminar will work toward exploring selection processes that are widely and clearly understood, seen to be fair, transparent and unbiased.  Ultimately, allowing athletes opportunity to prepare for selection and provide no reason for that selection to be disputed.

Format:

A number of presenters from clubs, schools and institute to share their selection highs and lows while outlining the processes that have worked best for them.
