In addition to the information session, former Fremantle Dockers AFL player Heath Black will be the guest speaker to talk about his journey. He will discuss overcoming mental illness/substance abuse and how having mentors, role models and a strong support network has helped him overcome his challenges, turning his life around.
Willie Simmons (TRY Program Coordinator and former NBL Basketball player) and Rosie Popa (TRY Program Coordinator and USA and Australian National Team Rower) will also be talking about how having role models in sport contributed to their athletic success and the importance to giving back.
