LOCKDOWN RESTRICTIONS UPDATE

LOCKDOWN EASED FOR REGIONAL VICTORIA – NEW CROSS BORDER INFORMATION

As a further update, on the advice of the State’s public health team, the Lockdown restrictions for regional Victoria have been eased.

Relevant to our Regional community, the following opportunities and restrictions will apply:

  • Travel is permitted within regional Victoria with no limit on the distance you can travel
  • You cannot travel to metropolitan Melbourne except for a permitted reason
  • Rowing Clubs are open for all ages; training and competition. Maximum club capacity of 100 people per space indoors at the density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm.
  • COVID Check-in Marshals must ensure attendees check-in using the Gov’t QR Codes.
  • Face masks must still be worn indoors and outdoors except when exercising including when retrieving equipment/ boats. Face masks are not required on water.
  • Practice good hygiene measures including washing and disinfecting shared equipment
  • Non-recreation/ sporting activities, e.g. Committee and general meetings (which are classified as social gatherings) are capped at 10 people.

Important for our Cross Border Communities;

All residents of the cross-border community local government areas are now required to obtain a permit to cross between Victoria and NSW from 6pm, Friday 13 August.

Residents are able to apply for a permit from Thursday afternoon at the Service Victoria website and via the Service Victoria app.

Relevant to our Metropolitan Community, unfortunately, lockdown restrictions continue without change. As a reminder, the following still applies:

  • Rowing Clubs are closed; no access allowed. This means there is no access to social rooms, change rooms, boats and/ or gyms.
  • Exercise is allowed for up to two hours and with one other person, limited to five kilometres from home.
  • If an individual (or two) have easy access to their own scull, pair or double scull, and they comply with all remaining exercise restrictions, i.e. not traveling more than 5km from where they live and limiting exercise to no more than two hours in total, they may row for exercise.
  • With the clubs being closed, the safety management plans are not activated, and insurance is not available.

Please continue to review the published exposure sites, their exposure windows, exposure Tiers and the indicated necessary action in efforts to keep the community safe.

Rowing Victoria will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with the community surrounding exposure sites and public health advice.

Stay safe, Stay Rowing!
