GEELONG LOCKDOWN & ROADMAP OUT ANNOUNCED
LOCKDOWN FOR GEELONG FROM 11.59PM SUNDAY 19 SEPTEMBER
On the advice of the State’s public health team, Geelong will again go into Lockdown with the same restrictions regarding exercise and access to facilities as per Metropolitan Melbourne and Ballarat.
The following applies from 11.59pm tonight until further notice:
- Rowing Clubs are closed; no access allowed. This means there is no access to social rooms, change rooms, boats and/ or gyms.
- Exercise is allowed for up to four hours, once a day and with one other person, limited to ten kilometres from home.
- If an individual (or two) have easy, outdoor access to their own scull, pair or double scull, and they comply with all remaining exercise restrictions, i.e. not traveling more than 10km from where they live and limiting exercise to no more than four hours in total once a day, they may row for exercise.
- With the clubs being closed, the safety management plans are not activated, and insurance is not available.
Please continue to review the published exposure sites, their exposure windows, exposure Tiers and the indicated necessary action in efforts to keep the community safe.
Rowing Victoria will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with the community surrounding exposure sites and any amendments to public health advice.
VICTORIA’S ROADMAP OUT
The release of Victoria’s roadmap is currently being reviewed as to how Rowing in Victoria can return safely and quickly for both recreation/ exercise/ training purposes and ultimately a return to competition. Details will be provided during the week following consultation with relevant stakeholders.
