Gender Equality - let's legislate!

As you know, in Victoria, we want to make gender equality a priority through legislation that ensures that all Victorians have equal rights and opportunities.
We are drafting a Gender Equality Bill to make this happen and the more input into the process we get, the better the legislation will be.

Can you help spread the word?

You might like to share one of these key messages to promote the Bill and encourage your networks to provide input:

  • This is your opportunity to tell us how we should progress. To solidify Victoria's commitment to achieving gender equality – and to hold ourselves to account - we need legislation, and we need your input.
  • Gender equality isn’t happening fast enough. Despite recent gains made for women in our country, the International Gender Gap Index shows we’re actually moving backwards.
You can help further the gender equality agenda by contributing to Victoria's first gender equality legislation.
  • Everyone benefits from gender equality. Gender equality prevents violence against women and girls. It’s essential for economic prosperity. Societies that value women and men as equal are safer and healthier.
You can help progress gender equality by helping shape Victoria's first gender equality legislation.

This is your opportunity to tell us how we should progress.
