REGIONAL LOCKDOWN RESTRICTIONS EASED

LOCKDOWN EASED FOR RGIONAL VICTORIA FROM 11.59PM MONDAY 9 AUGUST

On the advice of the State’s public health team, the Lockdown restrictions for regional Victoria have been eased from 11.59pm, Monday August 9.

Unfortunately, for Metropolitan Melbourne, lockdown restrictions continue without change.

Relevant to our Regional community, the following opportunities and restrictions will apply:

  • Travel is permitted within regional Victoria with no limit on the distance you can travel
  • You cannot travel to metropolitan Melbourne except for a permitted reason
  • Rowing Clubs are open for all ages; training and competition. Maximum club capacity of 100 people per space indoors at the density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm.
  • Please note, Rowing Victoria are awaiting further clarity on the use of bar/ social spaces
  • COVID Check-in Marshals must ensure attendees check-in using the Gov’t QR Codes.
  • Face masks must still be worn indoors and outdoors except when exercising including when retrieving equipment/ boats. Face masks are not required on water.
  • Practice good hygiene measures including washing and disinfecting shared equipment

Relevant to our Metropolitan Community, lockdown restrictions continue without change. As a reminder, the following still applies:

  • Rowing Clubs are closed; no access allowed. This means there is no access to social rooms, change rooms, boats and/ or gyms.
  • Exercise is allowed for up to two hours and with one other person, limited to five kilometres from home.
  • If an individual (or two) have easy access to their own scull, pair or double scull, and they comply with all remaining exercise restrictions, i.e. not traveling more than 5km from where they live and limiting exercise to no more than two hours in total, they may row for exercise.
  • With the clubs being closed, the safety management plans are not activated, and insurance is not available.

Please continue to review the published exposure sites, their exposure windows, exposure Tiers and the indicated necessary action in efforts to keep the community safe.

Rowing Victoria will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with the community surrounding exposure sites and public health advice.
