Rowing clubs advised to suspend operations: COVID-19
Rowing Victoria acknowledges The National Cabinet statement to implement Stage 1 of a shutdown of non-essential activity across the country from midday Monday, the 23rd of March, which is aimed at slowing the spread of coronavirus.
Rowing Victoria and Rowing Australia strongly advises that all rowing clubs adhere to the Government’s directive and suspend operations and that members of our rowing community seek alternative ways of training that comply with Government restrictions.
This recommendation does not come easily as we understand the value of rowing to our members, staff and volunteers cannot be measured. However, in the face of such an unprecedented health crisis it is important to maintain the health and wellbeing of our community above all.
Rowing Victoria will continue to deliver updates as the situation develops, to ensure the sport of rowing in Victoria may return in full swing for the 2020/21 season. Please visit the RV Site for future updates.
