VICTORIANS RECOGNISED AT ROWER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Rowing Australia (RA) has honoured its highest achievers, greatest contributors and most dedicated community members at its annual Hancock Prospecting Rower of the Year Awards. Rowing Victoria would like to congratulate all Victorian’s who received honours on the night.
Olympic Women's Pair Jessica Morrison OAM OLY and Annabelle McIntyre OAM OLY were recognised as the Female Crew of the Year and were also awarded the prestigious Gina Rinehart AO Rowing Leadership Award. Securing Olympic Bronze in Paris, plus Gold at World Rowing Cup III, their resilience, drive, and leadership both on and off the water have left a lasting legacy.
Rowing Victoria Board Member, Sue Andrews, was awarded the Volunteer of the Year. Recognised for her tireless dedication to rowing, from Nagambie RC to Rowing Victoria, Sue’s leadership and passion have been, and continue to be, invaluable to our rowing community.
Lastly, Mercantile Rowing Club's 'Guerin Club', which was offically launched in February this year, was awarded the Program of the Year. The program provides a space for younger rowers to stay engaged whilst fostering a welcoming and inclusive community. The 'clubbies' were regular attendees at our regattas last season and we look forward to seeing the program continue to grow.
Well done to all award recipients and finalists!
