ROWING VICTORIA KEEPING YOU HEALTHY

As the COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, it’s important that we all maintain good practices to ensure we continue to mitigate the risk of catching COVID-19 or other complaints, especially as Winter approaches.

To support good health, Rowing Victoria has secured commercial quantities of 75% alcohol, instant drying hand sanitiser. A case of 24 x 500ml will be available for each club to collect over the next few weeks.

Starting this weekend at the Ballarat Masters regatta, a case per competing club will be available for collection at the Bow numbers tent.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy!

WATERWAY ACCESS & INCIDENT REPORTING

With lockdowns lifted and access to the waterways now open to all, our rivers and lakes are becoming increasingly congested. Could all waterway users please reacquaint themselves with their local rules; traffic direction, turning points, stationary obstacles etc.

It's more than likely that the increased water traffic will also lead to an increase in the number of incidents. So that RV, Maritime Safety Victoria and now, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority can support the community in providing safe waterways, please register all incidents via the RV Report an Incident tile on the home page of the RV website. A consistent management of reporting will assist us in ensuring we are kept safe on the water and the chances of equipment damage is mitigated.

BIKE USAGE ALONG THE YARRA RIVER

With the great number of coaches coaching from bicycles along the Yarra River it is important to ensure that this is always done in a safe and considerate manner to all other pathway users.

A friendly reminder:

  • Helmets must be worn
  • When stopping, pull completely off the path
  • Do not block the path
  • Do not use mobile phones while riding
